Venue Spotlight: DC War Memorial

Venues

June 19, 2018

Today I want to spotlight one of my favorite venues, as I’ll be doing over the next couple of weeks. The DC War Memorial is an incredible historic site, but that’s part of what makes it such a cool space for a wedding! Only steps away from the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, the venue boasts beautiful garden views along with great views of the city’s skyline.

The memorial grounds can handle a wedding of up to 200 guests, and standing in the center is the iconic mall, with it’s domed structure that serves as a reminder of those who served in World War I.  The dome is absolutely incredible and provides tons of versatility to the space. You can keep it simple and minimalist with just a few flowers and decor pieces, or deck the entire space out with the whole works, and either way it will make for gorgeous photos.

There are plenty of beautiful spots around the mall that are perfect for hosting a wedding. West Potomac Park, which is settled right in the middle of the trees, is the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony, while there are multiple locations around the park for the reception location. It’s the perfect opportunity for an outdoor affair steeped in historical significance that gives you a secluded day away from the hustle of the city. If you’re interested in the War Memorial for your special day, check out their website here.
